The first appointment is called the intake or initial consult. During this appointment, I will gather information about you. This includes information about your childhood development, medical, social, family, and past psychiatric histories. I will gather a trauma history about you. We will discuss the current stressors and symptoms you are experiencing. It will be decided how often you need to be seen and what type of intervention may be the most appropriate for you. This first appointment does cost a little more due to the information I am gathering. I will formulate your diagnosis based on the symptoms you are presenting with.
